Submission: Kiss me I'm Irish
Obama has tried to woo the GOP by enticing them with their own policies: extending tax cuts for the rich, enacting corporatist healthcare reform (with an insurance mandate but no single-payer system), and supporting cap-and-trade environmental policies. According to this cartoon, he’s even tried lightening his skin to get the GOP to like him.
Unfortunately, no matter how moderate Obama goes,...

Submission: Questionable values
Democrats support women’s rights except those who want “traditional family values,” a code word for oppressing women and hating gays. A Good Cartoon.

Submission: Obamacare's deep impact
The Affordable Care Act, or Obamacare, is like an asteroid that will destroy the outdated dinosaurs of the insurance industry that rely on excessive charges and denial of care, rather than increases in efficiency, to be profitable. A good cartoon.

Submission: Gag me with a spoon
The Ryan Plan is unnecessary snake oil that would cause intense, unpleasant side effects, such as keeping Medicare as we know it out of reach of today’s children. Meanwhile, Obama’s approach is not properly labeled a “plan,” since his cost saving measures are already current law, and already bending the cost-curve successfully. A good cartoon.

wellthereitisthen asked: How exactly are women who prefer brawn over brains in guys "supporting their own subjugation"? It shows aggression against another man, not against a woman. (And by the way, I don't think punishing bad behaviour would perpetuate a cycle of violence.) Aggression could be used against her, or in defending her. I don't like that girls tend to go for strong guys over skinny guys,...

Submission: Alternate Take on Assay's "Atlas"
If a person retaliates against brute force with brute force he perpetuates a cycle of violence where mindless strength rules. If a person retaliates through intelligence, he’ll end the viscous cycle and win the hearts of women who haven’t internalized sexism to the point that they’re actively supporting their own subjugation. A good cartoon.

At a reader's request, some New Yorker cartoons
America’s two-party system is a stone-age relic.
Though they’ve always had a dog whistle near their lips, Republicans haven’t stopped blowing on it a single day for the past four years straight.
Even in the midst of recession and drought, Republicans would rather douse Obama than actually do anything constructive.
