A Good Cartoon

There are several things to take from this Michael Ramirez cartoon:

1) Much like the sign hung above Jesus’ head — “King of the Jews” — the health care overhaul was given a sarcastic, derisive label by its attackers.
2) Given the above fact, that Christ was labeled with his accusation, the confused message of a Catholic bishop being hung under the label “Obamacare” speaks to the numerous misunderstandings Christians have of their own Bible.

3) It’s incredibly telling that “religious freedom” is a label only given to one religion.

So rather than entertain the fanatic’s overdramatic display of supposed persecution — rife with hypocrisy and misrepresentation of the facts — the media asks his opinion on an actual news item involving his church. A good cartoon.
