Meanwhile the unfeeling distant cosmos would continue to spin and twinkle as before, performing their celestial quadrille with no notice of the passing of one insignificant nation on one insignificant world out of countless many, until the ultimate death of the universe or the awakening of Azathoth, whichever comes first.
